This morning's worktab saw more quick training from two and three-year-old quarter horses putting in final preparations for the All American. Analytix, a three-year-old colt trained by John Buchanan, led the day's 220-yard works zipping along in 10.95. Buchanan said he "laid him off after All American trials last year. He became a couch potato." He started this year's season with two subpar races at Remington in April and then the Rainbow Derby trial last out. "I think he finally found out he had to go back to work. Esgar [Ramirez] said he did it easy."

My Favorite Hocks, from the barn of Wes Giles, went 330 yards from the gate in company with two stablemates in 16.80, besting This Girls Famous by about a length and a quarter. "He got his foot hung up in the flipping halter then left kind of funky," said Jill Giles about his last race, the Rainbow Futurity Trial which followed a winning debut in the Ruidoso Futurity Trial. He behaved well in the gate today, left cleanly, and was between runners before edging clear.
