RAINBOW FUTURITY TRIALS: DAY 1

Cyber Attack Top Qualifier in Day-One Trials of Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs Race Track

Ruidoso Downs, NM--Cyber Attack, a two-year-old colt, hopped out of the gate and then powered home by nearly three lengths during trials Friday for the $1 million Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs Race Track, scoring the fastest time of the day,19.440 seconds, for 400-yards.

“That’s a fast horse,” jockey Eduardo Nicasio said with a smile in the winner’s circle. “I breezed that horse long ago when he first started in training and noticed there was some talent and ability. He showed it today.”

Cyber Attack is sired by Favorite Cartel out of the 2020 AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose by Corona Cartel. The colt was purchased at the Ruidoso Downs Select Sale last fall by Rosenthal Ranch for $400,000.

“It’s partly his breeding and partly his natural ability,” trainer Christopher O’Dell said. “We’ve raced several of his family members and have been successful with them and we’re looking forward to the final.” Cyber Attack paid $7.80, $5.20 and $3.60 in winning the 12 the race, advancing to the Rainbow Futurity final to be run on Sunday, July 24.

The other quarter horses that advanced to the final include: Hes Judgeandjury in 19.637 seconds; A Lucky Ladie in 19.656 seconds; Fearless Moon in 19.715 seconds; and Made the Cut in 19.729 seconds. Five more quarter horses will qualify on Saturday for the Rainbow Futurity with 17 races scheduled to begin at Noon. For more information, visit www.raceruidoso.com.
