John Andreini Scholarship Fund

Application timeframe is January 1 to April 15th, each year.

An award total of $7,000 will be distributed to the worthiest candidates from all applications submitted. A written essay and letters of recommendation are part of the application process. All applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the AARDF Board of Directors before final selection by that board.

The criteria for award eligibility are as follows: The applicants or their families are involved in the horse racing community. The applicants must have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their most recent year of study, and they currently attend or will attend a college (university, vocational school or certificate program) within six months of the application date.

The scholarship recipients will be awarded during a presentation at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack on May 27, 2024, in the winner’s circle after the John Andreini Stakes Race.
