Stable Notes by Mike Ahrens: Wednesday, September 2, 2020
Flashing My Pjs went out to the track today for trainer John Stinebaugh to jog and stretch her legs. The two-year-old filly will be one of the top choices in Monday's All American Futurity having posted a quick time in the trials. "She's happy," said Stinebaugh, and she looked the part of a budding superstar to this writer. "She's wild now. This is her second time to the track since the trials. What we do from here will depend on how fresh she gets." About selecting post position two at the draw, where she broke from in her trial, he said "Her mom won the Ruidoso Futurity from inside. She won her trial from the two-hole. I didn't want to change anything."
To her inside in post position one will be Eagles and Dragons for trainer Juan M. Gonzalez. He too was on the track this morning and "galloped close to the rail for Jaime [Leos] to get used to it," said the trainer's son and assistant Juan Carlos. "He's doing super. I am really pleased to have Flashing My Pjs to the outside, she's definitely a very talented filly. This horse has never really been pressed and he needs to be pressed because we haven't seen what he's capable of." About being the innermost post, though, he said "I would have liked to have two, or at least one, horse on either side of me but we're glad to have that filly beside us. As long as you're not 11th that's ok, because that means you got into the finals."
