Thursday morning training saw a handful of good contenders. Of note were several older horses from the barn of Wes Giles who worked an easy 220 yards in hand. Tres of Hero, finalist for the Ruidoso Derby, went in 12.27 while after the break were KJ Frankie B in 12.31 and Cat Daddys Lil Girl in 11.64.

John Stinebaugh also sent out a bunch this morning, the most impressive of which was Flashing My PJs who went in company with Fabulous Card Party, beating the latter by about a length without really being asked and doing it in 10.96. "I've trained two horses as fast as her in my life," said Stinebaugh. "Fabulous Card Party is a good horse, very quick, and he could only get up to her hip."

The second choice to Cyber Monday in the Rainbow Futurity trial, Flashing My PJs had a poor start, pulled a shoe according to Stinebaugh, and was still chasing down Cyber Monday narrowing the gap by the wire. Cartel Charly this morning worked in a quick 11.04 also without much asking.

"He busted a quarter crack in the Ruidoso Derby trial. I've been fighting it and put a different type of bar shoe on. He didn't stop today."

Also of note was Spirit Valley, who "ran so big in the Ruidoso trial he was a little beat up in the Rainbow but he's starting to freshen back up and get back into himself." He went 11.33 while well within himself.
