Ratification Dominates Inaugural All American Oaks Trials

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM – AUGUST 21, 2020 – In the trials for the inaugural running of the All American Oaks, the new division of the All American created for fillies, Ratification put on a clinic and demonstrated why she is the 2020 Rainbow Oaks champion. With a slight tailwind on a fast track, the filly dominated the second trial heat beating the second-place finisher by five lengths to finish with the fastest qualifying time over the 440 yards of 21.269. No other horse qualified from Ratification’s heat.
Ratification is owned by Bobby Cox and hails from the barn of John Buchanan. The sorrel filly by Apollitical Jess out of Shesa First Ratify by First Down Dash was bred in Texas and was ridden today by jockey Francisco Calderon.
"I never asked her to run today, I simply guided her down the track," said jockey Calderon. "For a filly to glide like she did and to put up a time like that, she is obviously something special."
