RAINBOW FUTURITY FINAL RESULTS

Eye On the Card Wins Rainbow Futurity Sunday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track

Eye On The Card, a two-year-old colt, held off Cyber Attack in the final strides to win the $1 million Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs Race Track on Sunday. Jockey Juan Pulido swept the Rainbow Futurity and Derby for the weekend, having won the Rainbow Derby aboard A Political Candy V on Saturday.

“I feel so lucky and blessed,” Pulido said in the winner’s circle. “I never thought that I would have this opportunity and then to be standing here—it’s amazing.”

Eye On the Card broke alongside Cyber Attack and the two horses dueled throughout the 400-yard race. The winning time was 19.419 seconds and marked the colt’s fourth win in five career starts. The colt is sired by Docs Best Card out of the mare Johns Party Girl by Mr Eye Opener. He paid $14.00, $6.40 and $4.00 for traner Santos Carrizales Jr. and owner Omar Hernandez.

In the $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile, Cartel Kisses, a two-year-old filly, came from behind to nip Hooked N Gone by a neck in a winning time of 19.535 for 400-yards.

“My horse didn’t really get going until about 200-yards down the race track,” jockey Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo said in the winner’s circle. “Once she engaged she was full of run and got there in time.”

Cartel Kisses is sired by Kiss My Hocks out of the mare Midnight Cartel by Carters Cartel. The filly paid $7.00, $3.60 and $2.80 for owners Larry and Roberta Parker-Rice and trainer Heath Taylor.
