Ruidoso Downs Race Track welcomes the Heritage Antique Show and Sale on May 27, 28 and 29 in the new Santa Fe Furniture Events Center as a featured attraction for their opening weekend of live racing.

The Heritage Antique Show will be filled with 20,000 square feet of rare and authentic antiques as well as collectables that are being introduced to race track fans in a first-ever show of its kind at the race track, according to Heritage Antique Show Coordinator Gail Kinney of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The antique show opens at 10AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The show closes approximately an hour after the end of racing each day. Admission is $10 per person but $8 for seniors, military and teens.

“We are proud to be introducing these renowned antique vendors to a new audience,” said Kinney. “We are bringing some of the nation’s top antique dealers to Ruidoso Downs for this show and welcome everyone to take this opportunity to see what’s inside the new events center.”

A few of the top antique vendors expected to participate in the show during Memorial Day weekend at Ruidoso Downs include:

Blair Smith, Man in the Moon Antiques from Michigan – Offering an exquisite selection of antique fine jewelry from around the world, including brooches, necklaces, rings, pendants, bracelets and much more.

Tim Bicknell, Rancho Pancho Antiques from Colorado – Specializing in a quality offering of advertising pieces, western and cowboy, automotive collectibles, and more.

Dick Lipe, Bijou Creek Antiques from Colorado – Quality refurbished antique furniture with an emphasis on American Oak.

Jim Williams, Poor Horse Antiques from Missouri – An emphasis on western collectibles and memorabilia, including spurs, prints, saddles and more.

Jim Taylor, Courthouse Square Antique Postcards from Missouri – Jim’s inventory is impressive, and is likely one of the most extensive collections of antique postcards found in the United States.

Nyla Kacer, Kacer Enterprises from Arizona – Kacer Enterprises is a premier dealer of sterling silver flatware and hollowware, specializing in antique items and those items that are obsolete and rare, as well as current patterns.

A large holiday crowd is expected to attend the races at Ruidoso Downs’ opening weekend, which features trials for the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity and $850,000 Ruidoso Derby. First post is expected to be early on Friday and Saturday, with additional races being added for the trials. Specific post times will be announced when the horses are being entered for the racing action.
