New Mexico Bred Quarter Horses Sell at Lazy E on Day One of All American Ruidoso Select Horse Sale

GUTHRIE, OK – AUGUST 27, 2020 – New Mexico Bred Quarter Horse Yearlings were featured in the first session of the re-formatted All American Ruidoso Select Horse Sale held at the Lazy E Arena today in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The Ruidoso Select Horse Sale, which is usually held over Labor Day Weekend at Ruidoso Downs, was temporarily relocated to Oklahoma this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, a total of 105 head were sold at the Guthrie, Oklahoma facility and averaged $14,433 per head.  The median price for the session was $8,100. There were 12 horses that were listed RNA.

The top seller was Hip Number 136, a Big Daddy Cartel-sired filly sold by MJ Farms as agent for Benny Smith to Tod and Gene Bradley for $85,000. The Bradley racing stable includes Ripp, a $105,000 purchase from the 2019 New Mexico Bred Sale, who this year became a Zia Futurity qualifier at Ruidoso Downs.

Session 2 of the All American Ruidoso Select Horse Sale which features the R.D. Hubbard weanlings, mares and racehorses, 20 foals-in-utero, and the first group of Select Quarter Horse Yearlings, Hips 153 through 387, will begin at 12:00 Noon CST and will be streamed at RaceRuidoso.com.
