Pick Your Pour Wins Mountain Top Futurity Sunday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track

Pick Your Pour, a two-year-old gelding, rose to the top of the New Mexico-bred class of young quarter horses Sunday with a solid two-length win in the Grade-II $341,362 Mountain Top Futurity Sunday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.

“We were confident in this horse’s ability,” jockey Mario Delgado said in the winner’s circle. “Even when we were breaking the horse back in El Paso we thought the horse showed talent.”

Pick Your Pour paid $8.80, $4.40 and $3.20 in a winning the ninth race in a time of 17.473 for 350 yards.

The gelding is sired by Jesse James Jr by the mare Tangled Vines by Dash Ta Fame for owners Orlando Granillo, Asucena and Rene Mendoza. The winning trainer is James Gonzales.

The seventh race on Sunday was the $50,000 Mountain Top Juvenile Stakes. Jess Emotions and jockey Sergio Dominguez came home a winner in a time 17.602 seconds.

Both horses are expected to participate in the Zia Futurity at Ruidoso Downs later in the summer.
