Chili The Kid Beer and Wine Festival

Chile the Kid Beer and Wine Festival Presented By City Bank Happens This Weekend at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino

Ruidoso Downs, NM—The annual Chile the Kid Beer and Wine Festival presented by City Bank is considered to have become one of the community’s most popular events every year. It is hosted by City Bank, a primary sponsor of Ruidoso Downs Race Track, and will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday inside the Santa Fe Furniture Event Center.

One of the first things that the public receives with their ticket is a boat of freshly roasted chile that has been picked in the fields of Hatch just 24-hours previously. The chile is roasted to perfection by Albertson’s Market and given away. Festival-goers are then treated to a souvenir beer or wine glass that is distributed for sampling of New Mexico’s best hand-crafted beer and wine.

This year’s breweries and wineries that are participating include: Noisy Water Winery of Ruidoso; Black Cock Brewing Company of Roswell; Picacho Peak Brewing Company of Las Cruces; Downshift Brewing Company of Ruidoso; HJ Winery of El Paso, Tx.; Sandia Hard Cider of Albuquerque; Black Smuggler Winery of Bosque; Saint Clair Winery of Las Cruces; Nikle Spirits of Albuquerque; Sheehan Winery of Red River; and Tularosa Vineyards of Tularosa.

Live music is a major part of the annual festival, and this year music fans will hear from the Eagles-tribute band “One of These Nights”. The Arizona-based band features the music of one of the most successful rock bands of all time. They will play tunes that highlighted the Eagles’ extraordinary catalogue that includes “Hotel California,” “Desperado,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Already Gone,” “One of These Nights,” and many others. They will appear at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening.
