All American Select, NM Horse Sales Revert Back to Regular Venue

(Ruidoso Downs, NM) After a review of accessible horse stalls in Albuquerque, All American Horse Sales LLC has announced that the New Mexico-bred and All American Select Sale will return to the regular venue at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.

“After further investigation of the Albuquerque facilities we discovered we were some 150 stalls short of what we need to conduct those sales,” said Walt Wiggins, general manager of the sales. “We apologize for any inconvenience that has been caused for all concerned, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the cool pines of Ruidoso.”

The dates for the New Mexico-bred sale will be August 16-17 starting at 5 p.m. (MDT)each day. There are 229 consignments scheduled to be sold.

The All American Select Sale will be held August 30-31 beginning at 4 p.m. (MDT) each day. A total of 425 consignments are scheduled to be sold.

On Labor Day weekend in Albuquerque, Ruidoso Downs is planning to conduct all major stakes races including the All American Futurity, All American Derby, All American Oaks and All American Gold Cup on Monday, September 2.

“This should allow horsemen and racing fans to spend time at the horse sales on Friday and Saturday then return to Albuquerque in time for the major races,” Wiggins said.
