2024 SCHOOLING RACES DAY 2
JAVYS INTEREST RUNS FASTEST TIME IN DAY-TWO
OF TRAINING RACES AT RUIDOSO DOWNS RACE TRACK
Javys Interest, a two-year-old filly, won the 9th training race handily today at Ruidoso Downs Race Track while recording the fastest time of the day, 15.802 seconds for 300-yards.
The New Mexico-bred filly is owned by Javier Rodriguez of La Feliz Montana Ranch (Hondo). Her sire is Suspicious Interest out of the mare Javys Brown Sugar by First Moonflash.
“We were surprised by the time,” Rodriguez said after the race. “She seems to be doing so well at this point in her development, but we were extremely happy to see that race time go up.”
The filly is named after her owner-breeder. She was listed in the All American Yearling Sale last September at Ruidoso Downs. “There was a bid for $15,000 but I decided to pass,” Rodriguez said. “We’ll see how that works out.” Javys Interest is expected to compete in the Mountain Top Futurity trials for state-breds May 31.
There were 19 training races today at Ruidoso Downs. The next racing action will come opening day, Friday, May 24th with trials for the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity.
