WORKERS CONTINUING CLEAN-UP AT RUIDOSO DOWNS RACE TRACK

(Ruidoso Downs, NM) Workers are busy on the property at Ruidoso Downs removing dirt and debris from the infield, barn area and race track surface as the off-season begins and repairs are made.
“We understand that we have plenty to do today so that horsemen and racing fans can return next spring,” General Manager Rick Baugh said. “We’re not wasting any time. We have crews removing debris today and will be working diligently while the weather cooperates.”

Meanwhile Baugh said that he continues working with county, state and federal officials to have a plan to manage the river that runs through the property. “The government’s involvement is key to our clean-up so that we don’t continue to have damage created by any more potential new flooding issues,” Baugh said.
Ruidoso Downs is expected to re-open for the 2025 racing season on Friday, May 23. Billy the Kid Casino, Billy’s Cantina Restaurant and the horse racing simulcasting room remain open seven days a week.
